Where Do I Start? Resources for Dealing with Your Cancer

In this seminar, representatives of national and local cancer organizations share information and resources. Topics include transportation and lodging resources; educational materials for cancer patients, families, and caregivers; social and emotional support resources; financial support for under and uninsured cancer patients; and more.

Understanding Disability Benefits for People with Cancer

This seminar provides an overview of common disability benefit programs, including private programs and those offered by employers and by the government. Topics include the benefits provided and eligibility and application information.

Fundamentals of Health Insurance for People with Cancer

This seminar provides an overview of the main types of public and private health insurance; and an explanation of common insurance concepts such as co-pays, deductibles, and co-insurance.

Employee Benefits for People with Cancer: Knowing and Using Them

This seminar provides an overview of common benefits offered by employers, including health insurance and paid leave; strategies for working with your Human Resources department around cancer treatment; and an overview of employee protections, including the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

Discussing Cost Concerns with Healthcare Providers

This seminar includes a discussion of common cost concerns people with cancer face and strategies for addressing those concerns with oncologists and other providers, who may be able provide resources and support.
